Mobile is our primary growth channel. We are building a native iOS/Android app as the core user-facing product — and we are hiring a Lead iOS Developer to own it.

The Role

This is not just a stronger Senior iOS Engineer role. It is a different job.

You will own the iOS technical roadmap, set engineering standards from scratch, make architectural decisions, actively mentor the iOS team, and act as the iOS voice in every cross-functional discussion — while coding every single day. We are looking for someone who codes at a high level AND leads through expertise.

The app processes real financial transactions for real users. Security, reliability, and code quality are non-negotiable — not aspirational.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Own the iOS technical roadmap and architecture — define how the app is built, not just what gets shipped
• Establish iOS engineering standards: code review guidelines, architecture patterns, CI/CD processes, testing culture
• Make and defend architectural decisions — MVVM / Clean Architecture / VIPER: know when to use what and why
• Build and maintain iOS CI/CD pipelines: Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, or GitLab CI
• Own the App Store lifecycle end-to-end: provisioning, TestFlight, submission, App Review
• Write clean, performant, testable Swift code every day — UIKit and SwiftUI in production
• Implement mobile security requirements: Keychain, Secure Enclave, biometric auth, certificate pinning, jailbreak detection
• Mentor iOS developers — raise their output, not just review their code
• Create technical documentation for the iOS codebase and architecture
• Participate in sprint planning, product design sessions, and roadmap discussions
• Collaborate with Backend, Product, Design, and QA — represent iOS in every cross-team conversation

What We’re Looking For

Must have:

• 6+ years of commercial iOS development in Swift
• Proven track record of technical leadership — setting standards, driving architecture decisions, raising the engineering bar across a team
• Deep UIKit mastery — custom components, complex layouts, performance optimisation
• Solid SwiftUI production experience — real screens shipped, not prototypes
• Strong command of architectural patterns: MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, TCA — knows when to use which and why
• Swift Concurrency (async/await) and Combine — used in production, not just explored
• Memory management: deep ARC understanding, can hunt and fix retain cycles and memory leaks
• REST API integration at scale: URLSession/Alamofire, robust error handling, retry logic, token refresh
• Mobile security: Keychain, Secure Enclave, biometric auth, certificate pinning, jailbreak detection — owns it, not delegates it
• iOS CI/CD: Fastlane, Xcode Cloud or GitLab CI — has set up or materially improved a pipeline
• App Store lifecycle: provisioning profiles, TestFlight, App Review — full end-to-end ownership
• Testing culture: XCTest unit tests and UI tests — writes testable code and enforces it in code review
• Code review leadership — raises the quality bar, gives actionable feedback, sets and upholds PR standards
• Active mentorship — has coached junior or middle iOS developers and improved their output measurably
• Cross-functional communication: works effectively with Product, Design, Backend, QA
• English B2+ — PRs, tickets, async communication, technical discussions all in English
• High ownership mindset — drives problems to resolution without being managed

Nice to have:

• Experience in fintech, crypto, payments or banking mobile apps
• KYC SDK integration experience (Sumsub, Onfido or similar)
• Payment SDK integration at iOS level ( Checkout.com , Stripe, etc.)
• Real-time data: WebSocket or SSE for live crypto prices or order status
• Firebase suite: Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, A/B testing
• Performance profiling with Instruments — identified and resolved real production bottlenecks
• SwiftLint or other static analysis tooling — has enforced it team-wide
• Experience hiring iOS engineers — participated in technical interviews
• Familiarity with modular iOS architecture (Swift Packages, feature modules)
• AI tools in daily development (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.)

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days — Get acquainted with the codebase, start contributing, establish the iOS delivery pipeline. Understand team architecture, stack, and processes.

First 90 days — Propose an approach to documenting application architecture. Actively participate in technical discussions. Provide valuable, trusted input on application development decisions.

First 6 months — Demonstrate leadership: develop the engineers you work with, act as the iOS voice in cross-functional discussions, own incidents and lead their resolution end-to-end.
