About the Role

You will join our Ruby on Rails team working on our bus development team and play a key role in its ongoing success. As a senior developer, we expect you to combine deep technical expertise with mentorship and ownership, while helping maintain a positive team culture.

We expect you to:

• Have strong, demonstrable expertise with Ruby on Rails, RSpec, and Git ️
• Champion modern engineering practices such as  CI/CD and TDD , and help improve them across the team
• Be comfortable and proactive working within a  fully remote team
• Have a deep understanding of  Software Design Principles and Design Patterns , particularly as they apply to Ruby on Rails
• Have significant experience working within and taking ownership of  existing codebases , including legacy systems ️
• Be able to  mentor mid-level and junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Be open to adopting new technologies and ways of working, and drive technical decisions

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Ruby on Rails development experience
• Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), including query optimization and schema design ️
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL (schema design, resolvers, performance considerations) ️
• Experience building and consuming gRPC services in a microservices environment ⚡
• Solid experience with background job processing using Sidekiq
• Experience with ElasticSearch and Redis in production environments
